Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
One child was strapped onto my back as the other crawled in the playground. I spent 12 hours days over months of sanding, and stripping wallpaper while carrying one kid. Ha! All was starting to come together but it wasn't quite finished. In order to furnish the house, it was going to be a huge effort in terms of both time and funds. It was also going to be a challenge go to my favorite stores. To keep my budget in good shape, I went out with my three boys in search for bargains at estate sales. It was our weekly routine of walking around auctions and garage sales on Saturday and Sunday, and buy a variety of furniture, both new and old made. My work days were spent on the drive either painting or sanding. What I saw looked something similar to... this is when my passion to restore furniture began. I continued to restore furniture even after we had completed the renovation of our home. There was a place on the market in town in which I sold my items. Then, my collection got so large that the room I had available was not enough. Open houses were held at my house where 1 000 visitors would pass through over a weekend, and visitors could buy anything from the first floor. Growing Days was created in the home. Apart from my successful business, I also grew our family. In a way, I had found the perfect equilibrium between motherhood and starting my new venture. Growing Days just seemed to work. My sweet Nora arrived in the year 2013 and was our 4th child. Although I was happy with the direction my business went, I was feeling like I needed to take a little break. I decided to stop building my old furniture for a few months and spend time with my kids. That was exactly what I needed at the time. It wasn't until a couple of months that my phone began to be ringing. Calls came in asking me to assist them in interior decor and home renovations. It was mostly those who came to my open home to purchase furniture. In the course of my work, I added customers to my client list each day. It wasn't too that long before I was managing multiple clients and ran a successful home remodeling business. If you had told me that my business would be an idea for the DIY Network show, I likely would have been astonished. It's fun to reflect to it.
